Assistant Engineer

Benton County Secondary Roads Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Engineer.  This position involves assisting the County Engineer in planning, directing and supervising the secondary road department to ensure effective and efficient design, construction and maintenance of all county roads and bridges.  Candidates must have an interest in rural transportation issues, surveying and public policy.  Strong communication and computer skills necessary.  Experience in local government is an advantage.  B.S. in Civil Engineering with E.I. certification required.  Must possess and maintain an IA driver’s license and be insurable under the County’s guidelines.  Applications are also available at the Benton County Engineer Office, 1707 West First Street, PO Box 759, Vinton, Iowa 52349.
